If we offered you our best CBD nitro cold brew, what would you do? Laugh? Snort? Walk away? Maybe all of those things, if you’re one of those coffee purists who like their coffee only one way and don’t need other choices because you know how coffee should be, and how coffee should be is untouched by CBD oil, dammit!
OK. We understand. De gustibus non est disputandum, as the ancient Romans used to say: “In matters of taste, there can be no disputes.”
Two things, though: The ancient Romans didn’t have coffee. And they didn’t have CBD oil. Maybe if they’d had both and figured out how to put a dollop of one into the other they’d have chilled out a little, stopped throwing people to the lions, started getting along with their neighbors better and might still be around.
Maybe you would, too — chill out a little. You’re probably not into the lion thing.
The C in CBD Nitro Cold Brew doesn’t stand for “coffee”
First, let’s talk about what CBD is. You’ve probably heard of it because it’s gotten very, very big in the past few years. CBD stands for cannabidiol. It’s one of the active ingredients found in cannabis plants, like marijuana.
Now let’s talk about what CBD is not.
It’s not that active ingredient. It’s another one.
The cannabis family of flowering plants includes marijuana and hemp. Some varieties of Cannabaceae contain tetrahydrocannabinol, better known (for obvious reasons) by its initials. THC is the main psychoactive compound in marijuana, and it’s the reason why you won’t find marijuana or its products in the aisle next to liquor in your local supermarket. Not yet, anyway. And THC is also something you won’t find in our CBD Nitro Cold Brew.
Another active ingredient found in the Cannabaceae family is CBD. It’s related to THC, and they even interact in our bodies in ways no one completely understands yet. But what we do understand is, CBD isn’t psychoactive like THC. That’s why you can buy CBD just about anywhere.
The most common source for CBD these days is hemp, another of the Cannabaceae and, honestly, a completely remarkable plant. We won’t get into the history of hemp here and all of its uses, but trust us — it’s remarkable!
Now, we’re all familiar with what THC from the marijuana plant does, though for those of us who may be a little too familiar, we might not always remember all that well. The effects of THC are very well documented, based on literally centuries of … oh, let’s call it “research.” And also on real research.
So what does CBD do? Why does it seem to be such a thing all of a sudden?
“Contributions Being Determined”
There’s been much less research on CBD than on THC; probably because THC is more fun to research, and maybe because that research seems to lead to Cheetos. Also, the effects of CBD aren’t as powerful, or as fattening, so proving them is just simply harder.
Still, there is documentation of some of the effects of CBD. Even Mayo Clinic, in its “Clinicians’ Guide to Cannabidiol and Hemp Oils,” says, “There is a growing body of preclinical and clinical evidence to support use of CBD oils for many conditions ….” Mayo’s guide references oils because that’s the most common, easiest to administer form of CBD. The chemical is extracted from hemp and infused into high-quality, neutral, ingestible oils. And millions of people credit CBD oil for helping them deal with pain, anxiety and depression.
Now, we want to be clear: If you’re suffering from any of those, you’re not going to get all the help you need even from the best CBD nitro cold brew. And you should talk to your doctor about options. We’re not doctors. We do coffee. Still, there are benefits to our CBD Nitro Cold Brew.
Back to our coffee
Remember up there when we offered you our CBD Nitro Cold Brew and you maybe snorted and walked away? Now maybe you should come back, because the benefits Mayo Clinic talks about came from high-quality CBD oil just like what you find in our brew.
So think about what you drink coffee for. First, for most of us, is taste. Like any of our cold brews, our CBD Nitro Cold Brew gives you the full coffee flavor you love with no bitterness or bite, the way that only cold brew can. Add to that the satiny thickness that comes from nitrogen injection. (What? You haven’t tried that either? You really need to spread your wings a little.)
And finally, experience what an infusion of high-quality CBD oil brings to the mix. People tell us they feel more mellow. Others say they don’t experience the “slump” they get sometimes when the caffeine wears off. We hear words like “alert,” “energized” and “productive,” but also “calm” and “chill” — and not just because it’s cold brew.
So what makes the best CBD nitro cold brew?
The best CBD nitro cold brew is the one that offers you the benefits you want. So we invite you to come in and try our CBD Nitro Cold Brew. Order a cup and do a little research of your own. We promise it won’t make you want Cheetos.
